Handful of Leaves Book Distribution

The Sati Center for Buddhist Studies is proud to distribute Handful of Leaves, the translation of selected suttas of the Pali Canon by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.

With Metta Forest Monastery, this joint publishing and free distribution program is spreading dhamma seeds throughout the world. Handful of Leaves, Volume I, Ajaan Thanissaro’s translation of selections from the Digha and Majjhima Nikayas (Middle Length and Long Discourses), has been sent to people in over a dozen countries on six continents, and in many of the United States during the past few months. Volumes II, III, IV and V are now available for distribution. Volume II contains selections from the Samyutta Nikaya (Connected Discourses) and Volume III has suttas from the Anguttara Nikaya (Numerical Collection of Discourses). Volume IV contains selections from the Khuddaka Nikaya (Short Collection) and Volume V contains an anthology from the Five Nikayas.

The Handful of Leaves, Volume I and Volume II are available online and in PDF, EPUB and Kindle formats that can be downloaded through these links: Volume 1 and Volume 2.

These books are distributed on a dana basis, that is, we do not charge for the books.  We request that you write us to request these books – we will not take email requests.  Within the US, we do not charge for the cost of mailing, however we gratefully accept donations to cover the costs of postage.  Please note that due to our all-volunteer staff, requests are processed about once a month.

Due to the high cost of international mailing (ten times or more what we pay for domestic postage), we must now ask that postage for international requests be paid in advance. Postal rates for each set ordered are $50 for overseas destinations, $28 for Canada, and $40 for Mexico. We would be happy to have a sponsor to offset the postage for mailing overseas — if you are interested, please contact us.

Thanks to a generous donor Sati Center is able to offer free international shipping for a limited time.

Please make funds payable in US dollars to the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies.
