Introduction to Buddhism

Taught by Tony Bernhard and Carolyn Dille

Saturday, April 5, 2008
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Location: Insight Meditation Center, 108 Birch St., Redwood City, CA

Note: IMC has changed its address to 108 Birch Street.
Since IMC's front door faces Birch, the old address caused confusion for newcomers. The new address remedies this situation, and will also enable emergency services to quickly locate the front door.

This class will lead beginning and experienced meditators through the tenets of Buddhist teachings, history and tradition. The aim is to provide students with a basic overview and grounding in Buddhist teachings that will help deepen their meditation practice. Topics include: the life of the Buddha, core teachings, history and development of the different schools, the Pali Canon, and traditional meditation practices.

This daylong is offered on a donation basis. Please bring your own lunch.

Tony Bernhard is a graduate of the Spirit Rock Meditation Center Community Dharma Leaders Program. He sits on the planning committee for the Sati Center, leads sitting groups and teaches dharma in Davis, CA.
